On December 1th, 2018 at Colopl Fes 2018 in Tokyo, Colopl has opened pre-registration for Project Babel as well as showed a promotion video. The game is designed for Android and iOS platforms by Colopl. The company planned to release it within 2019 in Japan, however specific date isn’t shared yet. They didn’t reveal any plan regarding to global release yet, so if deciding to play, players have to download via Japan Play Store or third-party app, plus the language in game is Japanese. Currently, players already can pre-register the game on its official website to receive newest information (still no pre-registration rewards). According to the information written on the official website, it will be launched as free-to-play with in-app purchases (estimated price range: ¥120/item 〜 ¥9,800/item, ※NOTED: This is Japanese Yen, the currency may change based on buyer’s region), there is a high chance that gacha system will be implemented just like other mobile games. If looking at the promotion video, the game follows turn-based RPG genre and owns an anime-style art under 3D graphics with all characters in game are featured in their chibi forms. Furthermore, it has scenario written by Kazushige Nojima known for several Final Fantasy series including Final Fantasy VII, Dragon’s Dogma Online with music written by Hitoshi Sakimoto known Final Fantasy XII, Ogre Battle: The March of the Black Queen.
